Our Journey: From Struggle to Hope
About Us In January 2019, our family faced the darkest days of our lives. Our 4-month-old son was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a fatal liver disease that would require a transplant. He spent a month and a half on the transplant list when we got the call that changed our world—a donor, a match.
On February 28, our son received the gift of life. While the surgery was considered a success, complications followed, leading to another surgery and weeks in the PICU. By June, we were finally able to bring him home. The following month, we found out we were expecting our third child. But by September, we were told there were complications. We faced an unknown future once again, and by late October, our baby’s heart stopped beating. I delivered a sleeping baby, and we buried him in November. 2019 felt like hell on earth. We wrestled with our faith, caught in a whirlwind of fear, grief, and uncertainty.
Looking back, I know it was only God that brought us through. There is no way I could have survived that year relying on my own strength. I grew up knowing of God—going to church every Sunday—but that was all I knew of Him. An old man in heaven I’d occasionally talk to when I needed something. But it was through my broken faith, my anger, fear, and disappointment that I truly got to know Him. In those hospital days, I leaned on my faith because it was all I had. It carried me through the darkest moments with both my sons.
Now, I want to encourage others to lean on God, to lean on their faith—through every season. Good and bad. He is there. He is with us, even in the pits, when we hit rock bottom and feel hopeless. God is good, even when life doesn’t feel that way. I founded The Faithful Prints to spread that hope, faith, and love. Inspired by our own journey of faith, our mission is to share hope. And because of our experience with a medically complex child, a portion of every purchase supports children in need. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our story.
